about this session

In this 2-hour online workshop we will be exploring our sense of wellbeing through the lens of Te Whare Tapa Wha, a model of health that represents health and wellbeing as a wharenui (meeting house) with four walls. We will explore the following questions:

  • What do I let go of?
  • What do I hold on to?
  • What do I give myself to?

By considering our feelings, needs, and strengths associated with the 4 walls of our whare — physical, mental/emotional, relationships, spiritual — we will gain a better understanding of what is most important to our wellbeing right now.  Perhaps some old strategies no longer serve you?  Perhaps using your strengths to address your needs will lead to better wellbeing outcomes?  We will use guided visualizations, movement, music, props, journalling, and drawing to discover how we can improve our wellbeing and fortify the walls of our whare.
